Programme

BCDO 2010 press 3

Wow, what a programme we have for you this year! We’re spending months looking for ways to build on the success of the past 3 years and can’t wait to fill you in on all the fantastic things we have planned for you to do and see around the BigChurchDayOut site in 2012.

To take everything in, and to experience all that the BigChurchDayOut has to offer in 2012, make sure you book a weekend ticket so that you’re not disappointed.

Car Parks open at 10.30am, Gates open at 11am , and the main stage programme kicks off at 12.30pm-we recommend you try and arrive as early as possible-have your lunch, play some games, and then enjoy 8 hours of fun together.

A more detailed programme will be available here in the coming months, and there will be a paper version for purchase at the event, but for now, here is a brief look at what we have on offer:

There will be 4 main venues around the Wiston site, all running a timed programme, between them catering for many tastes & ages.

However, we always aim to end the day altogether at the main stage in a focused time of worship together, under the beautiful night sky.

Main Arena 12.30-10pm

The main arena is the backbone of the event and, in previous years, has been the hub and base camp for every church group (instantly recognisable by the mandatory umbrella or picnic blanket). The natural amphitheater and trademark BigChurchDayOut flags create an outdoor arena like no other.

Our BigChurchDayOut main stage is where we come together -all shapes (!), ages and sizes, to join in with the celebration of all things good! To assist us in this we have a world-class line-up of worship leaders – see the Artists pages here.  It promises to be an unforgettable day as the church in the UK once again leaves the safety of its 4 walls and worships God right in the midst of His great and beautiful creation.

The Oasis Tea Tent 1.30-9pm

The Oasis Tea Tent is set in the stunning tiered gardens behind Wiston house. Its laid-back peaceful atmosphere and smooth tunes makes it a highlight for all those who attend each year.

Some old favourites plus some new artists will be serenading you over a cream tea. Click here to find out which Artists will appear. If you’re looking for a more relaxed day, and time to appreciate the beautiful surroundings, make your way round the back of Wiston house, grab yourself a cup of tea and a cheeky little cake, and soak in the amazing atmosphere.

Wiston Church

The peaceful Estate Church will be open all day for both personal prayer and at times some organized corporate prayer.

UCB Stage 2-7.30pm

Our mini-arena featuring the UCB Stage is located at the foot of the hill below Wiston House; this venue will play host to some of the biggest names in the UK Christian music scene today and appeal to anyone looking for a fresh and alternative sound.

Make sure you head over to the UCB Stage, as we are sure that over the next few years you will be hearing a lot more from these artists.

Kids Zone 2-7.30pm

Role up, role up! This year the Kids tent will be hosted again by the amazing Big Ministries team. Their fun and fabulous marquee situated just in front of the beautiful Wiston House will ensure the kids, and any parents watching, have a fantastic day.

The team has an abundance of energy and intense passion to see kids meet with Jesus. With live worship, games, puppets, Bible stories, workshops and so much more, we predict that you’ll find it hard to pull your children away. So if you have children aged 5-11 make sure they head on over and join in the party. Please note that we ask that you stay with your children during all activities.

Big Church Fete

The Big Church Fete was an exciting addition to last year’s event and will be in full swing again in 2012, on the lawns, in front of Wiston house, all day long!

With too many activities to list we can only begin to scratch the surface of the fun and treats that will be in store for all who enter.

There is so much more on offer at BCDO 2012 that we’re going to reveal over the coming months.  From the most excitable and tiniest of festival goers to those seeking a more peaceful and prayerful experience, all this and more is available to ensure that a fantastic time is had by all.

Finally:

Whether you come with your friends, family, church group or by yourself, we are confident that you will have a time to remember. It is so exciting that thousands of people across the UK and beyond will be joining together once again in the celebration of all that is good…and we can’t think of a better place for it to happen than in the incredible grounds of the beautiful Wiston Estate.

We look forward to seeing you all on the 2nd and 3rd June 2012!

With love from the BigChurchDayOut Team.
